Types of Surgery

After surgery, the first several days of recovery can be especially physically and mentally tiring. When you arrive, leave every last detail of your post-op care management to us so you can focus solely on rest and relaxation. Our patients usually begin their recovery process by spending 2-5 days with us or longer, depending on what type of procedure they have and their personal medical history.

Body Sculpting Recovery

Body sculpting procedures vary and encompass both surgical and non-surgical techniques that can target excess skin and fat to contour and shape the body. Whether undergoing an invasive procedure like an arm lift, or a non-invasive procedure like CoolSculpting, we provide an optimal environment for your smooth and comfortable recovery.

Brazilian Butt Lift Recovery

Brazilian butt lift (BBL) recovery averages about 4 weeks, with many clients being able to resume work or daily activities within 1-2 weeks. This procedure can augment and/or increase the size of the buttocks through a transfer of excess fat from other parts of the body.

Breast Augmentation Recovery

Many people can get back to work after a breast augmentation in about 1-2 weeks. In your first phase of recovery, expect to wear a supportive garment consistently, get lots of rest, and receive plenty of help with your everyday routine from our professional, friendly staff.

Breast Lift Recovery

After a breast lift, downtime before returning to work is usually about 3-7 days. This procedure is commonly performed to address sagging or imbalanced breasts and downward facing areolas. You should avoid bending, lifting, and straining following your surgery.

Breast Reconstruction Recovery

Recovery from breast reconstruction surgery may take a few weeks up to a few months, depending on the technique used and how much reconstruction is necessary. This procedure is commonly performed after a mastectomy, a removal of part or all of the breasts, due to breast cancer.

Breast Reduction Recovery

Many people need about 1-2 weeks of rest or time off work after a breast reduction surgery, depending on their typical routine. This procedure can address and relieve issues that may be caused by having large breasts such as back, neck and shoulder pain, nerve pain, poor self-image, or restricted ability to engage in physical activities.

Blepharoplasty Recovery

Recovery from a blepharoplasty, or surgery to fix saggy, drooping eyelids, usually takes 10-14 days. The procedure removes excess tissue from the eyelid area to improve cosmetic appearance and sometimes improve eyesight.

Chin Augmentation Recovery

Many people can return to work and most other daily activities within one week of their chin augmentation. The procedure is usually done to improve the profile and contour of the chin area with a fitted implant below the skin. After your surgery, we will monitor any symptoms such as swelling, discoloration, and numbness and prepare your liquid and/or soft meals per your doctor’s instructions.

Dental Surgery Recovery

Recovery times vary depending on the type of dental surgery performed. We coordinate with your dental surgeon to ensure that all post-operative instructions are carefully followed for a smooth transition home.

Facelift Recovery

After a facelift, many people experience swelling, numbing, and bruising for about 1-2 weeks, and can return to work after 2 weeks. However, full healing will take about 2 months. While you are here during the first phase of your recovery, we will tend to your surgical site, any bandages and drains, and all of your other needs while prioritizing your comfort and relaxation.

Liposuction Recovery

While liposuction usually requires minimal downtime, our private and soothing accommodations provide the perfect atmosphere to recover while dealing with any pain, discomfort, swelling, or bruising. Your pain level and recovery instructions may be different depending on which area(s) received treatment, so we will be there to make sure your doctor’s aftercare instructions are carefully followed and custom-tailored to you.

Tummy Tuck Recovery

Clients typically wait at least 2 weeks or more to return to work and light daily activity after a tummy tuck, or removal of excess skin and fat in the abdominal region. This procedure enhances the silhouette and overall appearance by making one appear leaner and defined. During your stay, we will help you care for your incisions and drain tubes and manage your entire care routine as you focus on resting and healing.

Mommy Makeover Recovery

We help our patients who have received mommy makeovers recover from a combination of surgeries that may include a tummy tuck, breast lift and/or augmentation, liposuction, and labiaplasty. Many patients can return to a desk job after 2-4 weeks with a refreshed look and sense of confidence.

Rhinoplasty Recovery

Though swelling may take months to subside, most people are able to resume most normal activities about 2-3 weeks after a rhinoplasty surgery, or a nose job. Whether a first-time or revision rhinoplasty, we help our patients achieve a smooth and quick recovery that leads to stunning results.

Sinus Surgery Recovery

Sinus surgery can treat problems such as recurring sinus infections, polyps, thickened lining, or misshapen sinus cavities that cause difficulty breathing. Most people take off about a week to recover and can fully return to their normal routine in about 3 weeks. Post operation, proper aftercare is crucial to a smooth recovery. We will monitor and tend to any symptoms you may have such as bleeding, pain, fatigue, nasal discharge, and congestion to maximize your comfort.

Thyroidectomy Recovery

Typical recovery from a thyroidectomy, which is a full or partial removal of the neck’s thyroid gland, takes about 1-2 weeks. The procedure can be performed to treat hyperthyroidism, thyroid cancer, a goiter, or suspicious thyroid nodules. After your surgery, we will guide you through your aftercare instructions, monitor any pain or symptoms, care for your incision area, and meet any post-operative dietary needs.

Tonsillectomy Recovery

Recovery from a tonsillectomy, or removing your tonsils, usually takes 10 days to 2 weeks. The procedure is typically done to address breathing problems, recurring tonsillitis, or other issues caused by large tonsils. After your surgery, we will help you manage your aftercare routine, dietary needs, and symptoms such as throat pain, swelling, and nausea.

Vaginal Rejuvenation Recovery

Depending on the type of procedure performed, many patients can usually return to their everyday routines within 1-2 weeks, taking about 6 weeks total to fully heal. Vaginal rejuvenation can address cosmetic preferences, vaginal tightness, urinary incontinence, or other age-related problems by restoring function and/or appearance.

Orthopedic Surgery Recovery

Our staff is skilled in the post-operative care of many orthopedic surgeries not mentioned by name on this list, such as procedures involving the elbows, wrists, and ankles. Recovery time varies depending on the type of procedure performed, but can range from several weeks to months. We are here to make you feel confident and comfortable post-op and make your transition home as easy as possible.

Hip Surgery Recovery

A hip surgery, such as a hip replacement, usually requires about 3-6 weeks of recovery time before resuming light everyday activity, including driving and running errands. After your operation, we will help you take care of your incision site, offer assistance with any exercises you may need to do, and manage any other instructions from your doctor.

Spine Surgery Recovery

Our staff is skilled in post-operative care for a number of spine surgeries including spinal fusions, herniated disc removals, artificial disc replacements, and vertebral augmentations. Depending on the surgery performed, many people require 4-6 weeks off work and have very little mobility in the early stages of recovery. We will ensure you never have to lift a finger as we tend to every detail of your doctor’s aftercare plan.

Knee Surgery Recovery

Depending on the type of knee surgery performed, it can take anywhere from weeks to months to resume light daily activity. During your stay, we will support you through your entire post-op routine and watch for signs of infection like redness and fever. Your dedicated nurse will be there for you any time you need help moving or using a cane, walker, or crutches.

Shoulder Surgery Recovery

Many people return to light activity and non-strenuous work about 2-6 weeks after shoulder surgery, depending on the operation performed. Our staff is equipped to handle post-operative care for many shoulder procedures and will help you manage your pain and personalized aftercare instructions.

Foot Surgery Recovery

Our staff is skilled in post-operative care for many foot and ankle procedures. We coordinate with your doctor to ensure your orthopedic care plan is meticulously followed post-op.

Bunion Surgery Recovery

It takes about six to eight weeks to recover from bunion surgery, or removal of a painful, bony bump by the big toe. For the first 1-2 weeks following your procedure, it is especially important to stay off your feet as much as possible and refrain from activities like driving, walking, and lifting heavy objects.

Head & Neck Surgery Recovery

Our staff is skilled in post-surgical aftercare for a variety of procedures performed by head and neck surgeons, or otolaryngologists. Recovery time varies depending on your medical history and the type of surgery you have.

Bariatric Surgery Recovery

After gastric bypass or other weight loss surgery, most normal activities may typically be resumed after about 3-5 weeks. You may stay in the hospital for up to 2-3 days after your procedure to begin your healing process. In your first phase of recovery, your stomach will only tolerate liquids. During your stay, we will make sure all of your specific aftercare and dietary needs are met as you relax and recuperate.
